Memorials wall

Restoration, relocation, and chronological interpretation of 30 internal memorial plaques and up to 16 gravestones from the churchyard as part of a collage incorporating other artefacts on the north wall and east wall of the north aisle. They are currently in a perilous state and need urgent attention.

These artefacts should be seen, not just as mere objects mounted on the wall, but as representing the precious gift of lives and stories meaningfully recorded, cared for, and shared with the visitor – a story of Charmouth people in one continuous display of memorials. The continuous interpretation strip beneath the artefacts will form a strong eye-catching cohesive graphic frieze.
